We see whole, restored and empowered communities where people flourish in God’s presence |
|
It upsets us to see ex-learners of the Day Care Centre and other children loitering in the streets in the afternoons.
Realising that there was no or little supervision at home, we started a Homework Centre for 20 Grade 1-3 learners in 2005. This centre was made possible with the support of St Peter’s Lutheran Church, Pretoria.
Most of the homework centre learners have been in the Day Care. The good work, started in the Day Care, is continued in the Homework Centre.

|
Within the first month, several learners started to get “Excellent!” awards in their homework books! |
|
Older children join community centre “clubs” for a nominal fee.
Clubs not only provide fun, but also create an opportunity for socialising and community building.
Children feel loved and become loyal, dependable and motivated as they journey with their leaders…
The existing clubs are the Swimming Club (we have the only swimming pool in Salvokop!), the Drama Club and the Library Club. |
