It is vital to sustain hope by networking urban initiatives. The network helps to stimulate, inspire and encourage. It serves to share models and new developments. The Institute for Urban Ministry has been hosting the South African urban network since 1996 and has maintained contact with African and International initiatives. Some of the highlights of the network are the biennial Consultations on Urban Ministry. |
|
The Institute for Urban Ministry wants to address the lack of local urban theological resources with its Resource Centre. Information, books, video’s, computers and web-based resources are made available to students and urban workers.
We encourage research with the ‘Public Urban Theology Research Project’ and work on publishing its findings in journals and popular books. The Society for Urban Theology meets annually to create space for continued academic reflection on urban phenomena and responses. |
