About our mission

· Yeast City Housing wants to be a responsive housing association, addressing the specific challenges of the situation and of individuals, and working with and through local communities.

· Our core business is the creation and management of affordable and appropriate housing options for low-income and at-risk people in the inner city, who are potential beneficiaries of housing subsidies and who require security of tenure.

· YCH is committed to provide a balanced housing stock, a mix of which 75% will be institutional housing, and the rest will include transitional, communal and special needs housing.

· Our secondary business, yet of integral importance to ensure the healthy implementation of our core business, is to facilitate opportunities for community empowerment, through providing relevant information, through linkages with other social services, and through capacity building programmes with our tenants.

· YCH wants to be recognised as a leading social housing institution in the City of Tshwane, providing a fair and caring service.

· Through its housing YCH wants to contribute to safe, healthy and economically viable inner city communities, i.e. the regeneration of the inner city.
